Signet

Signet is a proposed new test network parallel to the Bitcoin network. Like testnet and regtest, signet would be used by developers as a testing environment. Unlike the Bitcoin mainnet or the other test networks, signet would use digital signatures to validate blocks, not a Proof-of-Work system.

Testnet is a parallel blockchain to Bitcoin’s blockchain, used solely for testing and development. The testnet network has a separate token which has no monetary value.

The Regression Test Network (regtest) is a parallel blockchain to the Bitcoin blockchain. Regtest is most similar to testnet, but it is used solely for private development.

Signature
A digital signature is produced by a private key and proves that the owner of the private key and corresponding public key has validated the signed data.

Blockchain
A blockchain is a chronological list of records, called blocks. Each of these blocks contains transactions. Once a block is added to the blockchain, it is infeasible to alter, giving Bitcoin its immutability.
