Checking Address Generation

One of the benefits of using the Hardware Wallet Account is bitcoin address generation. After registering your wallet device, you can generate new deposit addresses associated with the wallet account on your device. Any deposits to this address will ultimately be owned by the device.

This article describes the steps you can take to compare the addresses generated on River with your device using vendor wallet software.

Ledger

Generate a deposit address in your Hardware Wallet Account that is associated with a Ledger device.

Using Ledger Live, select the Bitcoin Native Bitcoin 1 (native segwit) account in the Accounts list. Click receive and follow the instructions. At the last step, an address will be displayed that can be compared to the address in River.

Trezor

Generate a deposit address in your Hardware Wallet Account that is associated with a Trezor device.

Visit the Trezor Web Wallet and select Account #1. If this is your first time using the Trezor wallet, add an account.

On the receive tab, you can generate an address and compare the address with the one generated by River. If this is a used wallet, you can view the previous addresses.
