Meet the Team: Will Nemirovsky

1. What made you decide to pursue a career in Bitcoin?

The world desperately needs a viable universal currency. The implications for financial inclusion, international trade, and monetary stability are almost unfathomable. Mass adoption of Bitcoin will revolutionize the ways that humanity benefits from currency. This transition is inevitable, but I would like to be a part of accelerating it.

2. What’s your role at River Financial?

I design client-facing performance tools at River – this includes both the front-end design and the underlying financial formulas.

3. What did you do before joining River?

Prior to River, I conducted due diligence at Republic, a crowdfunding company based in New York City. At Republic, I was responsible for screening early stage companies and their founders for investment. I am also in the process of finishing my undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania.

4. What projects or advancements do you think are most exciting in the Bitcoin space right now?

I believe the most important advancements being made in the Bitcoin space relate to understandability and ease of use. These developments are crucial in driving mass adoption, especially among people with less technical backgrounds.

5. Where do you see Bitcoin in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see Bitcoin as the primary asset used to store wealth, especially in countries with underdeveloped or unstable financial institutions. It will be integral to many investment portfolios as a non-correlated asset. Additionally, Bitcoin will be used heavily in international markets. It will be the base currency used to denominate fiat currency value and it will facilitate international trade.

6. Describe Bitcoin in 5 words or less.

Currency for people; not governments.

7. What are some of your favorite hobbies or interests?

I like to play chess, poker, and squash. When I have the time, I enjoy reading or watching YouTube videos about topics that I am not well versed in.
